LiquiDonate Supports the Start With A Good Rescue Swag Bag Activation for LA Wildfire Survivors

Diz Petit

Founder, CEO

LiquiDonate joined SWAG to support LA wildfire victims, distributing 200 Rescue Swag Bags filled with essentials and comfort items. Partnering with Off-the-Grid Missions, Flowstate, and volunteers, we ensured every recipient including those with disabilities, received a bag. This effort embodies our commitment to compassion, community, and sustainability.

At LiquiDonate, we believe in the power of community, collaboration, and compassion, especially during times of hardship. That’s why we were honored to partner with Start With A Good (SWAG) for their deeply thoughtful Rescue Swag Bag activation—an initiative dedicated to supporting wildfire victims in Los Angeles who have lost so much.

Organized by Nancy Berger, founder and CEO of Start With A Good, this initiative brought together more than 40 beauty, fashion, accessories, and wellness brands to create Rescue Swag Bags for 200 recipients who lost their homes in the recent wildfires. These carefully curated bags are filled with necessities, gift cards, and comforting products, all selected with the hope of offering a moment of relief and a glimmer of solace during such an unimaginably difficult time.

How LiquiDonate and SWAG United to Support LA Wildfire Survivors

LiquiDonate partnered with SWAG to ensure that every recipient could receive their swag bag, even those unable to attend the in-person distribution event. Here’s how the activation came together:

Rescue Swag Bag Pick-Up Event

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, recipients were invited to pick up their bags at 528 State Street, Glendale, CA, during scheduled time slots. Nancy Berger herself greeted recipients at the site, offering warmth and a personal connection to the community impacted by these tragic events.

Rescue Swag Bag Delivery to LA's Disability Community

LiquiDonate took charge of coordinating delivery for recipients who couldn’t make it to the event, managing logistics with care to ensure every bag reached its destination.

We worked directly with a humanitarian non-profit that serves people with disabilities affected by natural disasters and war, Off-the-Grid Missions and a local disabilities mental health advocacy organization, flowstate to make sure these items made it to the folks who need it the most. Swag bags were distributed and delivered across LA County, spanning from Santa Monica to Duarte (for those that don’t know, that spans a 50-mile radius across each end of LA County).

We are especially moved by the volunteer participation from Slauson and Co., one of our trusted investors. Their involvement underscores the incredible strength of community and the collective will to offer support in times of crisis.

How LiquiDonate’s Core Values Shaped This Wildfire Relief Effort

This partnership was more than just a logistical effort—it was about living our core values, which are embedded in the word "DONATE":

  • Do Right: Providing direct support to communities affected by tragedy reflects our commitment to doing what’s right.
  • Own It: We took responsibility for ensuring no recipient was left without the support they needed, organizing deliveries for those unable to attend in person.
  • Negotiate: Partnering with SWAG and other contributors, we worked to streamline processes and maximize the impact of this effort.
  • Adapt: From logistical adjustments to unexpected challenges, we stayed agile to meet the needs of the moment.
  • Eliminate Waste: These donations represent an opportunity to repurpose valuable products that might otherwise go unused, channeling them to those who need them most.
  • Transparency First: Clear communication and collaboration were at the heart of every step, ensuring trust and accountability among all involved.

Acknowledging the Partners and Volunteers Behind the Activation

We want to thank Nancy Berger and her team at SWAG for their vision and leadership. Your dedication to creating moments of hope in the lives of wildfire victims is inspiring. We also extend our gratitude to Brooke Brinkman of Simon G. Jewelry, Karen Giberson of The Accessories Council, and Vanessa Coppes of Bella Media, whose tireless efforts made this activation possible. A special acknowledgement goes to our team member Kirsten Fargas on the ground and Slauson and Co. for their volunteers who gave their time to bring care and compassion to this effort.

Spreading Hope Through Rescue Swag Bags for Wildfire Victims

In the face of such profound loss, it’s hard to imagine what can truly make a difference. But we hope these curated swag bags offer more than just necessities—they represent a moment of care, a reminder that people stand together, and a small measure of comfort during such a difficult time.

At LiquiDonate, we’re honored to have played a part in this activation and remain committed to finding ways to create positive change, even in the hardest moments. Together, we’re not just moving inventory—we’re standing with communities when it matters most.
