LiquiDonate Responds to the Southern California Wildfires

Diz Petit

Founder, CEO

The wildfires ravaging Southern California have left entire communities devastated. Families have been displaced, homes and businesses destroyed, and lives changed. The destruction is staggering, and the need for immediate, thoughtful action is clear.

Why Now?

At LiquiDonate, we’ve always believed in matching resources where they’re needed most. Now, as we witness the overwhelming impact of these fires, we’re standing up our Disaster Relief Program a full 12 months early, in collaboration with Comeback Goods.

Why LiquiDonate:

While LiquiDonate’s roots are not in traditional disaster relief, LiquidDonate’s unique platform is perfectly suited to address urgent needs by connecting inventory from retailers & brands with nonprofits on the front lines. The Southern California wildfires are a tragic reminder of the importance of rapid, coordinated response, and we’re here to help.

We’ve also seen the fall-out of well intentioned supplies ending up at nonprofits and mutual aid groups that are overwhelming local people. The timing of supplies arriving needs to be coordinated by a central organization, and we believe we can be that.

Why Comeback Goods:

Comeback Goods believes in facilitating the full utilization of brands’ and retailers’ inventory — whether it’s excess products, slightly blemished units, or simply products languishing in warehouses because they weren’t fit for the “primary channel”.

We’re the first-of-its-kind software & marketplace for ecommerce’s overlooked inventory, flipping the script on how brands and retailers think about inventory and value. Comeback Goods is all about unlocking “stuck” goods and leveraging them for opportunities — and as a champion of communities & collaboration, partnering with LiquiDonate for Disaster Relief made perfect sense.

An Unprecedented Disaster Relief Program

The LiquiDonate x Comeback Goods LA Disaster Relief Program is designed to ensure vetted, donated goods reach the right places at the right time, which is critical given widespread needs and a continually shifting landscape.

What makes this program noteworthy:

  1. Sponsored By Top Players In E-Commerce: We’re rallying the e-commerce community to support relief efforts.
  2. Time-Sensitive Deliveries: We collect specific dates and times when donated products will be most useful and ensure delivery within those windows.
  3. Holding & Staging Capabilities: For items that can’t be delivered immediately, we’ve partnered with Packsmith to securely store donations until they’re needed.
  4. Curated Matches: Trusted, vetted organizations specific to LA relief needs.
