LiquiDonate Joins the Meaningful Business 100: A Morning of Connection and Collaboration

Diz Petit

Founder, CEO

On the morning of December 5, 2024, LiquiDonate proudly participated in the Meaningful Business 100 (MB100) seminar, joining a global cohort of changemakers dedicated to solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Selected from over 850 applications spanning 100+ countries, LiquiDonate was honored to be recognized as one of this year’s MB100 companies. This acknowledgment celebrates our commitment to creating sustainable solutions for excess inventory and retail returns while advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—with a particular focus on SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Meeting Global Changemakers

The seminar provided a vibrant platform for connection, innovation, and collaboration. We had the privilege of meeting fellow MB100 participants—entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and nonprofit founders—each bringing unique perspectives and solutions to the table.

Through breakout rooms, we engaged in meaningful discussions about the challenges businesses like ours face in driving positive social and environmental change. Topics ranged from scaling impact while maintaining sustainability to navigating funding for circular solutions. These conversations left us inspired and reaffirmed our mission to transform the way retail products reach their end of life, ensuring they benefit communities instead of filling landfills.

Mapping to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Our work at LiquiDonate is directly aligned with SDG 12, which emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices in consumption and production. By connecting retailers’ excess inventory with nonprofits in need, we reduce waste, promote circularity, and provide critical resources to organizations doing impactful work in their communities. Today’s seminar deepened our understanding of how to amplify this mission on a global scale.

Celebrating Pledge 1% at the United Nations

This week also marks the 10-year anniversary of Pledge 1%, a movement encouraging businesses to dedicate 1% of their resources to social good. LiquiDonate is proud to be part of this transformative initiative, and we are thrilled that our very own Renee Barker is representing us at the United Nations this week to commemorate the milestone. Her presence underscores our commitment to using our platform for meaningful impact and contributing to a larger movement of purpose-driven businesses.

Looking Ahead

Being part of the Meaningful Business 100 and participating in today’s seminar reminded us why we do what we do. LiquiDonate’s work is about more than rerouting retail returns—it’s about building a sustainable future where businesses, nonprofits, and communities thrive together. We are humbled to stand alongside a community of innovators and problem-solvers, and we’re excited to implement the insights and connections gained today to further our impact.

Thank you to the Meaningful Business team for creating this space, to our fellow participants for sharing their wisdom, and to the Pledge 1% movement for reminding us of the power of collective action. Together, we are proving that business can be a force for good.

Stay tuned as we continue to celebrate this incredible week of milestones, connections, and opportunities to amplify impact.
