Disney Petit and Chef Supreme: Leading with Purpose
Disney Petit, founder of LiquiDonate, and Chef Supreme, founder of The Harvest Academy, are passionate advocates for veganism and ending food insecurity. Recently, Disney and Chef joined forces following a conference in Los Angeles, CA, to distribute rescued food to houseless individuals in the Skidrow neighborhood. As with most conferences, perishable food remained at the end of the event at risk of being landfilled. 
This operation showcases LiquiDonate's software functionality: Our system identifies nonprofits, such as The Harvest Academy, strategically located and ready to accept specific items that might otherwise be wasted in landfills.
Celebrating Juneteenth with The Harvest Academy
This Juneteenth, The Harvest Academy is set to make history with an ambitious goal— establish a Guinness World Record for the most community meals served in one hour, aiming to serve 1,000 meals.
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger announced and enforced the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas, effectively ending slavery in the United States, though it heartbreakingly came two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863.
Juneteenth is celebrated nationally and stands for freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. Choosing Juneteenth for this Guinness Book of World Records Challenge is about harnessing the spirit of unity and empowerment that this day embodies.
